‘The Luncheon’, a charming short story of W.S. Maugham describes a restaurant visit held by the narrator twenty years ago, in reception of a woman assumed to be a supporter of his arts. The narrator hits upon the woman in a theatre years after the incident and recalls the past story in his mind throughout the while, a formal conversation takes place between them.
